Visitor Privileges

Access to the Library

The CCU library welcomes everyone to visit and use our resources. To enter the library, CCU faculty/staff members and students can use their university ID cards, whereas alumni and family members of faculty/staff can apply for a library card to access the library facilities. Guests may use interuniversity cards issued by a library of which they are already members, or they can register at the library information desk with a valid photo ID (e.g., national identity card, driver’s license, or passport). Children under 12 years old should be accompanied by adults for safety during their stay in the library.

Borrowing Materials

Borrowing privileges are limited to users with a university ID card, library card, or interuniversity card. Please refer to the borrowing & delivery guidelines for details.

Online Resources & Off-Campus Use

Licensed databases are accessible through the CCU campus network. Off-campus users can log in using the CCU Library Database Connection Service or CCU SSL VPN Service. Because of licensing restrictions, these databases are inaccessible off campus by alumni, family members of faculty/staff, retired faculty/staff members, or the public.

Wireless Internet Access

CCU users can log in using the CCU SSL VPN Service and can use their laptops or mobile devices to access the Internet. Guests may use library workstations, which do not require a login process.

Use of Library Spaces & Devices

Reading space and discussion rooms are open to the public. However, priority is given to CCU users. For more information, please refer to the library spaces guidelines. Photocopy services can be paid using copy cards purchased at the circulation desk or by a per-page charge. The use of laser printers or microform reader printers can be paid by a per-page charge, and use of the scanners is free.
